The methodological template. Nineteen authors derive "indicator properties" of consciousness from the leading neuroscientific theories (global workspace prominent among them) and ask which current AI systems satisfy them. Anthropic's J-space paper is, in effect, the first attempt to answer one of these indicators empirically rather than by architectural inspection.
